Built for Indian restaurants

Billing and kitchen orders, in one place

Diner runs the till, fires tickets to the kitchen the moment they are placed, and keeps a GST register that holds up to an audit. One menu across every branch, on hardware you already own.

What you get

Everything a service needs, nothing it does not

Diner covers the whole loop — order, fire, cook, settle, close — without asking you to stitch three products together.

Counter billing

A till screen built for the lunch rush — large tap targets, keyboard-first search, and no page it takes two hands to reach.

  • Dine-in, takeaway and delivery on one screen
  • Split, merge and transfer tables mid-service
  • Item modifiers and variants without leaving the order
  • Discounts capped by role, with over-cap approval

Kitchen orders (KOT)

Orders reach the kitchen the moment they are fired, on a display built to be read from across a hot line.

  • Live KDS screens with oversized, glanceable cards
  • Per-station routing so the grill only sees the grill
  • Status flows back to the floor in real time
  • Network printers supported alongside screens

GST that survives an audit

Tax is computed once, at settle time, and written onto the bill — an old invoice never changes because today's prices did.

  • CGST/SGST and IGST resolved per bill
  • Invoice numbers sequential and gapless, per GSTIN
  • Configurable slabs per item tax group
  • A branch cannot bill without its GSTIN mapped

Every branch, one menu

Branches share a single catalogue and staff directory, so a price change is one edit and reporting is already consolidated.

  • Central menu with per-branch availability
  • Consolidated reporting across locations
  • Staff who work in more than one branch
  • Branding cascades branch → restaurant → org

Roles that match the floor

Owner, manager, cashier, waiter, kitchen and finance — each sees what the job needs and nothing it does not.

  • Permissions scoped to the whole org or one branch
  • One person can hold several roles at once
  • Roles resolved per request, so revocation is instant
  • Voids, discounts and day-end close are all gated

Menu and modifiers

Categories, subcategories, variants and add-ons — priced and taxed properly, not bolted on as free text.

  • Categories and subcategories for long menus
  • Required and optional modifier groups
  • Per-item tax group and HSN
  • A QR menu diners can read on their own phone

One system

Five screens, one source of truth

Each role gets a screen shaped for the job. They all read and write the same orders, so nothing has to be re-keyed.

  • Till

Take the order, apply modifiers, settle the bill.

  • Kitchen display

Tickets land live, sorted by station and age.

  • Manager board

Covers, sales and open tables as they happen.

  • Admin

Menu, staff, branches, taxes and branding.

  • QR menu

Diners browse the live menu on their own phone.

Compliance

The invoice register your accountant asks for

Most of the pain of a POS switch is the tax trail. Diner treats it as the thing that must not break.

  • Numbers are gapless, per GSTIN

Each registration has its own sequence, allocated inside the same transaction that settles the bill. Two tills cannot be handed the same number.

  • Tax is a snapshot, not a formula

CGST/SGST or IGST is computed at settle time and written onto the bill. Re-pricing the menu next month does not rewrite last month's invoices.

  • No GSTIN, no bill

A branch must have its registration mapped before it can issue an invoice — a missing GSTIN is a hard block, never a silent fallback.

Questions

Before you ask

The till keeps the order you are building and queues it, so a brief drop does not cost you the table. Settling a bill needs the server, because that is what guarantees invoice numbers stay gapless — two tills offline cannot both be told they own number 41. We would rather block a settle for thirty seconds than hand you a broken GST return.
